FORMER Chase pupil Emily Spacie, who is in a play in London, performed before royalty on Thursday (July 8).
Emily, 20, has a leading role in the play None But Friends, the centrepiece of the International Youth Arts Festival and a gala performance of the play yesterday was attended by Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
The play is about the peasants revolt of 1381 and is described as a tale of passion, murder and mutiny. Although set in the medieval period the play is being performed in modern dress.
Emily, a third-year drama student at Kingston University, plays one of two sisters caught up in the historical events.
The play is being performed at The Rose Theatre in South West London.
Emily’s fellow students at Kingston University are involved with production, set design, choreography and music.
Emily, who began acting as a pupil at The Chase, said: “ I think its great that the role of women is recognised in the play, it makes it more appealing to modern audiences.”
