ONE lucky girl will be heading to this summer’s school prom with an extra special gown, thanks to a competition being run by a Great Malvern clothing and sewing business.

Kallisté and Simply Sewing, which are both managed by Pat Keeling, are offering secondary school girls the chance to design their own prom dress and see it made up in time for the end-of-year ball.

Application forms are due to be sent out to schools across the Three Counties and final date for entries will be Friday, April 30.

Mrs Keeling said: “Because we run a sewing business as well and we make dresses, we thought it would be a lovely prize.

“Prom dresses are usually made of special fabrics and details but they can interpret it any way they like.

“Entries will be judged on their merits according to the style of the design and the attention to detail and whether it’s actually feasible to make it.”

Designs should includes notes on any important features.
