CARERS from Malvern are being invited to take part in a series of “life-changing” group sessions starting later this month.
The series of seven session are aimed at anyone supporting a loved one, child, friend, neighbour or partner, even if they do not consider themselves to be a carer.
Sessions will cover a wide range of topics including coping with the pressures of caring, getting the most out of health and social care professionals and dealing with emergencies.
This is the first time that the Department of Health-funded Caring with Confidence course has been held in Malvern, and feedback from other parts of the county has been extremely positive.
The first sessions are being held at Prospect View Medical Centre on Tuesday, April 20 and Tuesday, April 27. To book a place or for more information call Worcestershire Association of Carers on 01905 26500. Light refreshments are available at each session and carers can receive funding for travel and alternative care costs.
Self-study packs are also available as an alternative to the course. To register for a free pack visit caringwithconfidence.net.
