VOTERS will have the chance to question West Worcestershire's prospective parliamentary candidates at an event in Hanley Swan later this month.

The candidates who have already cast their hats in the ring - Malcolm Victory of the Green Party, Lib Dem Richard Burt, UKIP's Caroline Bovey and Conservative Harriet Baldwin - will be at St Gabriel’s Church, on Wednesday, April 21, at 7.30pm.

Sue Adeney, the event's organiser, said: "It will be an opportunity to hear the candidates at first hand. In rural areas there are specific issues which perhaps need to be explored such as rural deprivation, affordable housing, and the rural economy.

"In addition many people in the countryside do not get the chance to meet the candidates out on their campaigning trail. This event allows them that opportunity."

The event will be chaired by Frances Wookey, the vicar and rural dean, and all are welcome. Questions should be submitted in advance to Sue Adeney on 01684 310440, or preferably by email to sadeney@metronet.co.uk.
