ROGER Hargreaves’ Mr Men and Little Miss characters came to life when pupils at St Matthias Primary School in Malvern held a book fair.
All children and adults from the Cromwell Road-based school dressed up as their favourite person from the ever-popular series. Characters chosen included Mr Strong, Miss Chatterbox and one of the newest creations, Mr Snow.
Ginnie Rodway, literacy co-ordinator at the school, said: “In order to promote reading throughout St Matthias, we help a book fair, ending in an exciting book day.
“The final day included a number of reading and writing activities based on the Mr Men and Little Miss books. There was also a series of story-telling sessions led by parents, governors, and year six pupils.
“Book prizes were given out for the best-dressed characters in all year groups. The event raised £300 for the purchase of books for each class.”
