EX-Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher stayed at the Cottage in the Wood country hotel in Malvern at the weekend and entertained friends.
The family-owned hotel in Malvern Wells has become a firm favourite with the veteran politician who took over a suite of rooms for herself and her entourage on Saturday and Sunday (October 4 and 5).
Lady Thatcher hosted a dinner on Saturday evening in the hotel’s restaurant, and entertained friends to tea during her weekend break.
Since discovering The Cottage, Baroness Thatcher has returned regularly for visits.
Owner John Pattin said: “We are always delighted to welcome Lady Thatcher back to The Cottage. She says it is its relaxing atmosphere and beautiful location that she so enjoys. She is a charming lady, always elegant and has time for everybody. It’s good to see her in very good health.”
Lady Thatcher is no stranger to the area. On her 78th birthday she visited the Elgar Birthplace Museum at Broadheath, the Anne Frank exhibition at Hereford Cathedral and Royal Worcester Porcelain.
She also visited Weston’s Cider Visitors’ Centre, in Much Marcle.
