Malvern Town have announced their captain and their top scorer have signed on for another season at the club.

Skipper and left back Lewis Platt and striker Jack Watts will spend another year at the HDANYWHERE Community Stadium.

Platt led the Hillsiders to promotion from the Hellenic League Premier at the conclusion of the 2022/23 campaign, and will continue to wear the armband in their second consecutive season in the Southern League Division One South.

Co-manager, Lee Hooper said: "It’s great to have the skipper on board again.

"He plays a massive part in what we do off the pitch as well as on it.

"His whole-hearted attitude sets a precedent of what it means to play and captain the club.

"Having Platty around for another season is great for us as a club and we are looking forward to working with him again."

Top scorer Watts, who joined the team 12 months ago after their promotion to step four, has also committed to the upcoming campaign.

Watts played a key role last season, scoring 20 goals and securing their place within the top ten.

Co-manager, Stephen Cleal, said: "It’s fantastic to have Wattsy commit for the season ahead.

"As you would expect, there has been plenty of interest in him, including clubs from the level above, but he loves it at Malvern and we know exactly what we get from him."

Watts added: "Everyone at this club, from the chairman, management, players and all of the amazing fans, have made me feel so welcome since I first joined.

"I’ve enjoyed every minute at this great club and now I’m over the moon to be staying on and playing for that badge again.

"We gave a good account of ourselves in our first season at Step 4 and now we go again."
