FOUR members of the Malvern Hills Indoor Bowls Club have been selected to play for England in upcoming competitions in various categories.
Tom Holmes has been picked in the Men’s Under 25 squad; Hannah Smith for the Women’s Under 25 squad; Shaun Jones for the Men’s Senior team and, for Disability Bowls England, Joe Peplow in the Mens B6 category.
Jones once again played in the Home International series in March and Smith and Holmes recently made their international debuts in the England Under 25 teams.
Like Shaun, both Hannah and Tom played in the Home International Series against Ireland Scotland and Wales, with England finishing in second place to Scotland in both their competitions.
Joe Peplow will be playing for the Disability Bowls England Team in the Para Indoor Home Nations at Newport IBC, Wales 21-23 April 2023.
"MHIBC is a small club with less than 240 members so this is a huge achievement and one which we are all proud of," said Hazel Bennett.
"The bowls club is part of the Manor Park Sports complex on Albert Road North Malvern and welcomes players of all abilities. Introductory coaching is available for anyone wishing to try out the game and enquiries are welcome – please phone 01684 574010."
