SIR Michael Spicer, Member of Parliament for Worcester West, voted on Wednesday against more Post Office closures following the results of a survey distributed to Malvern homes.
Sir Michael sent the survey to every household in the constituency asking for feedback on the use of local Post Offices.
He said: "I will do what I can to ensure that as many post offices as possible in my constituency are kept open.
"For many people, particularly the elderly and those who do not have easy access to transport, these provide an essential service."
The survey revealed that 56 per cent of those who replied walked to their local Post Office and 71 per cent of those do so on a weekly basis.
