A PUB in Malvern has shut down just weeks after being taken over by new owners.
The Cavalry Arms, in Clarence Road, was reopened by Nick Scott and Natalie Kent towards the end of April. They told the Gazette of their plans for a £50,000 refurbishment, but on Friday, June 15, the pub closed its doors.
Mr Scott said this week he and his partner took the decision to stop running the pub, but said he could not comment on the closure for legal reasons. However, he hoped the pub could re-open soon.
Organisers of a season of music sessions scheduled for the Cavalry have had to find a new home because of the closure.
The season was due to begin on Wednesday, June 20, but then organiser Gary Tolley was told by Mr Scott about the closure.
However, he managed to find a new venue, at the Wyche Inn, Wyche Road, and saved the season.
The next gig is on Wednesday (July 4) and features the Carol Lee Sampson, Ray Stroud, James and Guy, and others.
