A ROCK gig is being staged in aid of a Malvern man who was paralysed in an accident.

Thom Donaldson broke his neck in an accident last summer, and workmates at Morgan Motors, where he was an apprentice, have rallied round to raise money for him.

Now, Mark Powell, who used to work at the famous car firm, and whose son plays in a band, has arranged the latest event.

"I have managed to secure three of the best local bands around at the moment to play this gig free of charge in support of Thom," said Mr Powell.

The concert is on Friday, July 13, and features Malvern band Zebedy Rays, and two groups from Worcester, And What Will Be Left Of Them, and Afterview. "All the bands have agreed to divert from busy gig schedules around the country to play at the gig," he said.

The show is at the Civil Service Social Club, Pickersleigh Avenue, Malvern Link, which has agreed to supply the venue free of charge.

"I really hope we get as many people as possible," said Mr Powell. "It's a rare chance to see these bands on one bill." Tickets are £5 from Mr Powell on 07971 663752 or on the door.
