A MALVERN artist is asking people to donate to the County Air Ambulance to mark her bicycle ride from John O'Groats to Land's End.

Glynis Dray set out on her epic 1,255-mile ride on May 2, and completed it on June 2. Although she did not ask for sponsorship in advance, she says she will be delighted if people make contributions in her name.

"Living in Malvern Wells, we see the air ambulance quiet often when people get in trouble on the hills," she said. "It costs them a lot of money to operate, and all of it comes from public support."

Glynis, aged 55, has wanted to cycle the length of the country since she was a girl, she said. She was accompanied part of the distance by her partner, driving a support car.

One son joined her for a day in Cumbria and another for a day in Arran. Donations can be sent to the air ambulance HQ at Unit 16, Enterprise Trading Estate, Pedmore Road, Brierley Hill, West Midlands DY5 1TX.
