A THOUSAND balloons will fill the sky over Madresfield next Friday, July 6, as schoolchildren take part in a very special fundraiser.
Madresfield Primary School is holding a Great Balloon Race to raise money for school funds. At 5pm 1,000 helium-filled balloons will be released into the air, each bearing a special ticket written in four different languages.
Friends of Madresfield Primary School member Tarquin Shaw-Young said the balloons could reach heights of up to five miles, and that several would find their way to mainland Europe.
There are still some balloons available to purchase at a cost of £1. To purchase balloons call 01684 569201.
