THE Poolbrook Community Fete, held last Saturday, was a great success, say organisers.
Hundreds of people turned out to support the event, which included an art exhibition and dancing in Poolbrook Community Hall, and poster-making by members of the Octagon Youth Club.
There was also a barbecue, rodeo ride, stalls and a bouncy castle outside the Three Horseshoes pub.
Organiser Angela Noble said: "We had a brilliant afternoon. There was a good relaxed atmosphere, and it was great to see so many people.
"Even the sun came out when we needed it."
Lib Dem parliamentary candidate Richard Burt performed the official opening.
He paid tribute to the hard work of all those who helped to organise the day and thanked Probus and QinetiQ for their sponsorship.
