THE only suggestion I would like to make to Heather Jeavons (Letters, May 15) is that in future elections we should ask candidates if they have multiple family financial interests to land either that may have been developed recently or within the not too distant future.
I also think all candidates who stood for election to Malvern Hills District Council should have been hand-delivered a letter asking them to confirm whether they as individuals or their families stood to gain financially from proposed development sites.
This information should then have been published in the Malvern Gazette prior to polling day.
Having said that, it appears most voters knew if their candidate had been, or intended to use their potential position for financial gain, and democracy pulled through preventing those candidates election/re-election into a position that they could abuse.
And for that I would like to congratulate the people of the Malvern Hills.
