I AM writing to back the campaign to say no to the proposed solar park at Woodhall Farm.
The proposal is to build a very large solar farm on 75 hectares of productive farm land between Lower Broadheath and Martley.
This would be 180,378 solar panels and the same size as 105 football pitches.
I am advocate of solar power and believe we need more solar panels pulling energy into the grid, but there is no need to do this on such a grand scale.
We need to look at ensuring new housing developments, like the ones built at Broadheath and Martley are built with solar panels (this hasn't been the case) and other available rooftop space is used before we start using precious arable farmland.
