In 2013 my wife and I retired and moved to Malvern.
We did so because our research indicated that Malvern Hills residents enjoyed a very high quality of life.
We have not been disappointed. The excellent transport, stunning countryside active social scene and relaxed way of life takes some beating. We are very happy to have made the move.
Yet it seems the Malvern Gazette seems to represent a different town entirely.
Weekly headlines of drugs, robberies, vandalism: are we living in the same town? Perhaps we may be guilty of viewing our new home through rose-tinted spectacles. But maybe, just maybe, the Malvern Gazette has become just a little used to taking the good things about this fantastic little town for granted.
For example, last week's headline (January 30) was of a eulogy by two children to their mother.
Very sad as this was, would it not have been more appropriate to have held the front page for the second-page article on the outstanding success of locals secondary schools?
This was a truly good news story affecting hundreds of Malvern families.
So please, let's have more coverage of all the good things that go with living in Malvern.
