HAVE we lost our sense of national pride?
Shopping in Ledbury High Street on April 23, I saw no sign of a St George's Day flag, window dressing or anything, in fact, which signified our patron saint and national day! Worse still, the only place I was able to purchase items for a display in our local community shop was by post from Amazon as there was simply nothing to be seen in Ledbury shops where I buy most of my goods in order to give local support.
The Welsh, Scots and Irish all make a huge display of celebrating by wearing national costume, parades, bunting and promoting their historic identity, and it saddens me to realise that our much-vaunted town hasn't bothered.
Is this down to apathy or some kind of misguided political correctness?
