An opportunity exists for Malvern to have a local currency, the Elgar Pound.
A lot of towns already reap the success of establishing one; Bristol is a good example: http://bristolpound.org/
Although I intend to liaise on this with Malvern, Upton and Ledbury town councils, together with a dozen or more parish councils, the people who can make the Elgar Pound a reality are local residents and independent retailers and traders.
They stand to benefit the most from a truly local currency, which will help retain niche shops, specialist traders and all the associated jobs.
