Residents are being invited to play their part in the transformation of Worcestershire County Council’s Here2Help service.

Here2Help is a community action scheme, originally dedicated to helping those who needed support at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The aim now is to evolve the service, so it offers advice, support and help to the wider community as lockdown slowly begins to ease.

A number of online Focus Groups are taking place later this month and people are being encouraged to sign up and take part.

Cabinet member with responsibility for communities, Councillor Matt Dormer said: “This is a great opportunity for members of the public to get involved and share their views on what services the new style Here2Help scheme offers.

“Following on from the success of the first focus groups last month, we would now like to invite more local residents to join in and tell us what they think.

"Worcestershire County Council’s vision is to provide a service that empowers people across our communities who may need help to help themselves and to be supported by their local community.”

The service will still help to support people who need to self-isolate and aid those who are unable to seek help from family, friends or neighbours.

Here2Help has provided a range of support to over 5,200 individuals including emergency food parcels, medication collection and assistance with essential shopping.

It has significantly grown the volunteering offer in the county and strengthened relationships between residents, councils and the voluntary Community Sector.
