A SHORT film showcasing one of Worcestershire’s most distinctive landmarks has been nominated for a prestigious television award.

Worcester-based creative communications agency, Conteur, has been shortlisted for a Royal Television Society Award for its film telling the unique story of The Real Flower Petal Confetti Company in Wick.

The film, which features businessman and landowner Charles Hudson telling the story of how and why he set up the UK’s first real flower confetti company in 1997, has now been shortlisted for the prestigious Royal Television Society (RTS) awards, Midlands region, for the ‘Promotional’ category, which ‘recognises production excellence and creativity in content made to promote products or services.’

Real Flower Petal Confetti Company founder, Mr Hudson said: “Conteur were the first film team I had worked with who properly researched what we’re doing as a company and their approach allowed us to feel properly represented in the marketplace.

“To be honest, I was quite overwhelmed by it, I couldn’t believe that anyone could capture the essence of what we do so harmoniously, it was amazing!”

Gillian Davies, director of Conteur, said: “This was a fantastic project to work on and the nomination is recognition for the hard work that our Video Production team has put in over the years to continually add value to the content we’re able to produce for our valued clients.

“We started this year by investing heavily in new equipment and training, ensuring that we could provide high quality additional services such as drone and 360-degree filming in-house, and whilst our video production service took a significant hit during lockdown, I’m incredibly proud of how our team worked tirelessly to support our clients and continued to deliver outstanding results, which has enabled us to bounce back strongly.”

While a traditional Awards Ceremony cannot be held, the Royal Television Society are still planning to celebrate and recognise all nominations and the Midlands television community via a virtual livestream Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, November 25.
