“These are uncertain and difficult times, but we are taking the opportunity to strengthen our business in a way that will promote growth and sustain profitability for years to come.

“There are areas we would like to explore, new directions that complement the current business and potential expansion from our existing client portfolio.

“I am thrilled to be taking on my new role and thank the owners of the business for offering me this fantastic opportunity.”

“When I look back to my first step into the industry back in 1989 with Monk Construction Ltd as a trainee Quantity Surveyor on the M5/M42 Northern Link I did not think for one moment that I would end up as Managing Director.

“My formative years within the Monk/Trafalgar House/Kvaerner group provided some amazing experiences and I was privileged to work and be trained by some of the best people within the industry – I owe them my career.

“Hard work and a desire to expand my experience in different areas of the industry enabled me to change career path into project management whilst working for Dean & Dyball Construction Ltd.

“Various management roles within Dean & Dyball and then G F Tomlinson & Sons Ltd, prepared me for more challenging roles and when Jon Kirkland asked me to join Montel in 2013 to work with him to evolve the business and move it forward, it was too good an opportunity to miss.

“The last seven years of Montel have been both exciting and very satisfying.

“We have a wealth of talent and enthusiasm within our organisation and I look forward to working with them in taking Montel through its next stage of evolution and beyond.”
