BUSINESS leaders worried about the economy can hear from a key player with the Bank of England at a breakfast event.

The Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce is inviting local companies to join them at the Bank of England Breakfast.

The event features Graeme Chaplin, the bank's agent for the West Midlands and Oxfordshire, who will discuss the latest economic forecasts from the Bank following the latest parliamentary goings-on, as well as explaining the role of the bank in promoting stability in the UK financial sector.

Following the presentation, which takes place at the Courtyard in Hereford on September 20, attendees will also have the opportunity to ask Graeme questions.

Guests will also have the opportunity to network with senior business leaders from across the two counties over refreshments and delicious breakfast rolls.

A chamber spokesman said: "Businesses feel like Westminster is playing an endless game of political chess, while their futures and the health of the UK economy hang in the balance.

"In the real world, the continuing political turbulence is taking a toll on contracts, investment decisions and on business confidence.

"The top priority for businesses and the UK economy is still to avoid a messy and disorderly exit from the EU.

"None of the happenings in the last few days have given businesses greater confidence that this will be achieved.

"It is essential for government and its agencies to further boost support for businesses through any scenario.

"Further confusion is not only hindering businesses’ ability to prepare for Brexit in whatever form it takes, but it is bringing with it economical barriers which are preventing further growth and investment in companies in the UK."

The briefing is free for Chamber Members, and is priced at £20+VAT for Non-members, to book your place now please visit www.bit.ly/BoEtickets.
