MALVERN'S new Morgan 3 Wheeler will go head-to-head with a steam train from the Severn Valley Railway in a unique charity time trial.
The Worcestershire legends will cover 16 miles from Bridgnorth to Kidderminster on Friday, October 26, from noon, with all proceeds going to BBC Children in Need.
Sky Sports presenter Vicky Gomersall will be on the footplate of Sir Keith Park and Coronation Street actor Tony Hirst (Paul Kershaw) will be in the car.
Organiser John Leftwich said: “A time trial between a 130-tonne locomotive and 500kg car sounds unfair but the train is restricted to 25mph on the track and the Morgan has more obstacles to contend with.”
The train will be pulling eight carriages, including a Children in Need coach.
Each driver will collect tokens along the route. The winner will be the first person to hand their tokens to the station master under the station clock.
