I WARMLY applaud the Barnards Green subpostmaster for attempting to keep the parking spaces open in front of the post office. Numerous people have to make short visits to the post office and it makes sense to have parking spaces as near to it as possible.
Worcestershire county councillors clearly have no experience of shopping in this area.
They say “Passengers have to pass between the parked vehicles to get to the footpath” – is that really such a hardship? If it is, why not ask the buses to stop at the bus stop?
“A man has nearly been run over by a reversing car” – that could probably be said of every road in the neighbourhood!
Barnards Green is an essential shopping area for people who live south of Malvern, and access to its shops should be made easier rather than more difficult for the sake of both retailers and customers.
