OUR next meeting is at St Andrews on September 5. We will meet as usual at around 10am for coffee and a chat to catch up with all the news from holidays and other excursions that we have all undertaken ... can we call it Summer holidays with all the rain that we have had?

Our meeting this month took on the form of a rather extended coffee morning down here in Upton. We all hoped that it would stay fine as we started off in a big ring, sitting on the patio, chatting away, enjoying the view.

Needless to say it did not last long and a few spots made us think of decamping indoors and by the time we had all got in with our chairs stashed out of the way, down came the rain.

It did not dampen our spirits but made it a little easier to get at the goodies and it not be too obvious when we went back for more.

Much laughter and lots of chat interspersed the munching and I think all enjoyed themselves.

A lot of good suggestions were put forward and I hope we will be able to implement many of them in the months to come.

Needless to say we discussed the most important event of the month when we all gather at some hostelry for lunch, if you missed last months notes I will give them again.

On September 28  we will meet at The Harvester on Bath Road; October 19 at Wetherspoons in Great Malvern ; November 23 – The Railway Inn on the Wells Road and our ‘Christmas’ celebration we hope to be able to go to Malvern Spa on December 14.

If you want transport to any of our events please either telephone me (592709) or Alan (575671) and we will arrange for transport for you; but we can’t do that unless we know “who and where”... and leave a message, if we are not in.

One idea that was thrown across the room at our coffee morning, was, because we all have different memories of childhood it might be fun to share them under the titles of 'leisure, food and weather"

... with an egg timer limiting how long we can rabbit on for ... but that will be in November.

Next month we are going to devise a ‘games’ morning and in October after the AGM we will have a bring and buy but more of that next time.
