I AGREE with Jane Knowles of Just Sew about all buses going up Court Road should use the main bus stop on the island and “go round again”, but in order to make this work, another vital change is needed, and one which is many years overdue.
Barnards Green is an island, not a “true”
roundabout.
Allowing all traffic from the Green to enter the island as a priority has always been a recipe for disaster, wasting hundreds of man-hours in queues. If buses were to try to go round the island more often, the problem will get worse, not better.
All that is needed are a few new road signs and a tin of paint to change the priority to favour traffic on the island, not the Green.
This will cost very little, will make everyone’s life a lot easier, improve traffic flow in the Green area, remove the problem of buses double parking in Court Road and will keep the parking bay outside of the post office.
