PUPILS at Northleigh Primary School can enjoy a new garden created to mark the Queen’s Jubilee.

The garden was opened at the end of the summer term by Malvern mayor Coun Ian Hopwood.

The mayor was accompanied by Bill Simpson, a former director of the Royal Horticultural Society, who was in Malvern as part of the In Bloom judging.

“He was most interested in our new garden,” said headteacher Duncan Jones.

The garden includes a pergola surrounded by planters, and will be used for outdoor lessons, storytelling sessions and quiet reflection.

“The children love it,” said Mr Jones. “The ceremony was cut short due to rain, but the next day they were out there listening to stories.”
