A MALVERN company has donated memory boxes to Worcester’s St Richard’s Hospice for children to keep treasured memories of a loved one who has died. Pendragon Presentation Packaging Ltd from The Haysfield in Malvern had already adopted the hospice as its charity of the year when St Richard’s asked if the firm could help with the memory boxes.

Head of St Richard’s family support team Sarah Popplestone-Helm said: “We know bereaved children and young people get great comfort from keeping special things connected with their loved one who died. “Equally, when someone is ill, a memory box can be a way of passing on treasured memories to children. “Thanks to Pendragon our skilled practitioners are able to give these beautiful memory boxes to patients and their children they then fill them with items that encourage those treasured memories. All sorts of things can be collected – cards, letters, shells collected on the beach, tickets from places visited together, the list is endless.”

Christine Fleetwood from Pendragon said: “We were delighted to help St Richard’s and engaged three of our suppliers, GF Smith, Oak Die Stamping and Malvern Die Makers, who gladly produced materials free of charge. “We were invited to the hospice to see for ourselves the wonderful achievements and experiences gained through fund-raising. “It was a networking evening and we took inspiration from many other supporters with their own stories of how they raise funds and help in other ways to support the charity. We are proud to continue our association with the hospice by raising funds whenever possible.”
