THE ambulance service is offering people in the region the chance at an NHS career.

The West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust recently recruited five apprentices to join its workforce in the non-emergency patient transport service (PTS), and now wants more to join.

In partnership with Performance Through People (PTP), the ambulance trust is offering apprentices the opportunity to obtain an NVQ level 2 in healthcare support services.

While working alongside our PTS staff, the apprentices will be given the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills over a 12-month period.

Looking for new starters, the trust is holding open days throughout the region for anybody who wishes to find out more information.

Applications are also welcome through NHS jobs or the national apprenticeship website, and the closing date is Thursday, August 9.
