A MALVERN street drinker has been served with a Crasbo following drunk and disorderly behaviour in the town.

Kevin Bayliss, aged 48, of Elgar Avenue, Malvern, is a well known character around Malvern but police hope the Crasbo will reduce his bad behaviour.

This latest order, which lasts until March 14, 2014, relates to a conviction for being drunk and disorderly on Thursday, December 8, when he used foul and abusive language towards paramedics. The order bans Bayliss from drinking in designated areas, begging or loitering in a public place and causing anyone harassment, alarm or distress.

PC Jemma Greenow of the Chase Local Policing Team said: “Mr Bayliss, who is often known locally as Sky, is a well-known character around Malvern, but usually for negative reasons.

“After a previous Asbo expired in June 2011, by the time I applied for the Crasbo on 8 December, he had been involved 27 incidents, including urinating in public, being drunk on a public highway, drinking in an alcohol control zone, shouting, swearing and using abusive behaviour at passers by, including school children.

“In the past when Mr Bayliss has had an Asbo, it has greatly reduced his disorderly behaviour and I hope that this will happen again.

“We will take action if he breaches the conditions of his Crasbo and we appeal to Malvern residents to contact us straight away if they experience him behaving in an intolerable manner.”
