MORE than 500 people took advantage of the spring sunshine to enjoy a day out among the daffodils in Malvern.

On Sunday Little Malvern Court opened its doors to visitors in support of the National Garden Scheme (NGS) and armed forces charity SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association).

Little Malvern Court’s owner Alexandra Berrington has been opening the garden, which stretches over 10 acres and boasts lakes as well as a variety of spring bulbs, flowering trees and shrubs, to the public for more than 25 years.

“This was the first time we have opened this year and it went very well indeed,” she said.

“It turned out to be quite a nice day weather-wise which always helps, as I think did the fact that it was Mothering Sunday.”

Little Malvern Court will be holding another NGS event, in conjunction with adjoining Little Malvern Priory, on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7.

It will also be opening every Wednesday and Thursday afternoon between April 18 and July 19. For more information, call 01684 892988.
