THE music and memories of Connie Francis are coming to Worcester’s Swan Theatre.

Connie Francis; Musical Memories, written by Brian Langtry, takes the audience on a moving and fascinating journey through the eventful life of the popular singer.

As she sits down to write her autobiography, the audience listen in on some of her darkest and her funniest moments.

Reliving the highs and lows of her incredibly interesting past, a mature Francis is brought to life by actress Ava Hunt.

A seasoned performer with a catalogue of stage and TV productions under her belt, Hunt draws the audience into Francis’s world, from her Italian-American roots, her love of Bobby Darren, up to her harrowing depression.

Teaming up with Hunt as the beautiful young Francis is the formidable Hayley Di Rito. Her “enchanting” singing voice and “mesmerising” stage presence are sure to have the audience spell bound, as she takes us through a host of Francis’s best-known hits.

Under the direction of Langtry himself, the audience is brought up close and personal to the life of the “first female pop star”, who had hits such as Lipstick on Your Collar, Who’s Sorry Now and Stupid Cupid.

The show, which is brought to the stage by Legless Productions, will appeal to those who remember dancing the night away to Francis’s hits when she was topping the charts and people of any age who love great music.

Connie Francis; Musical Memories comes to The Swan Theatre on Thursday, March 22, at 8pm.

Tickets cost £15 (concessions £14), available from the box office on 01905 611427 or online at theswantheatre.co.uk.
