THE meeting was held on Tuesday, March 13, at the village hall.
The president gave out the notices and then introduced Jill Salmonds who gave a talk on Costumes and Culture from Around the World.
Ms Salmonds brought with her many costumes from China with the emphasis on the exquisite and beautiful embroidery of the garments.
Members were allowed to try them on, but not many are size 6, so they had to handle them instead, some being generations old.
All told, it was a very enjoyable and interesting meeting, after which tea, biscuits and chat was the order of the day.
Hanley Swan is holding a walk about of 23 gardens from May 5-7.
All are welcome.
The next meeting is on April 10 entitled 20 Years Undercover with Customs and the Serious Organised Crime Agency so should be good.
