THE stunning Little Malvern Court is one of 25 gardens open to the public that feature in a new guide that goes on sale this week.

The Little Book of Worcestershire Gardens showcases some that are old and grand, others that are small and relatively new. Some are staffed by teams of gardeners, others lovingly tended by one devoted owner. Some are open by appointment only, some to visitors for most of the year, others for just a day or two under the wonderful National Gardens Scheme (ngs.org.uk), which raises millions of pounds for charity while giving enormous pleasure to people across England and Wales.

Set high up in the Malvern Hills with sweeping views across the Vale of Evesham, Little Malvern Court offers a magnificent setting for a beautiful garden.

Having been in the Berington family since the 17th century, the court’s 10 acres are attached to a former Benedictine priory and have been re-landscaped extensively over the past 25 years.

From ancient, mature trees dating back hundreds of years to fine examples of topiary through various perfectlycultivated hedges, the gardens offer visitors an impressive variety of plantlife to enjoy.

The Little Book of Worcestershire Gardens costs £4.99 (plus £1 post and packing) and contains information such as opening times and admission prices. It is on sale at the Worcester News offices in Hylton Road, Worcester, or by calling 01905 742333 during normal office hours. Alternatively, buy online at worcesternews.co.uk/store
