MALVERN Fringe Arts is looking for buskers to take part in a town centre fund-raising event later this month.

The event, on Saturday, March 31, is being held to raise muchneeded funds for the fringe’s annual May Day festival in Priory Park. Sam Hemmings of the Fringe said the event, now in its fourth year, is a chance to savour the talents of local bands and musicians.

She said: “This time we would like to expand the event and make time for more performers.

We will again be having a number of ‘Busk Stops’ at various locations throughout the town, and the idea is that players can do a mini-tour of the town playing as many as they like.

“We will also have use of a solar-powered PA again on Belle Vue Island. We are pleased to have the support of established musicians, but are also keen that this is a chance for younger or inexperienced performers to join in and have a go.

“Buskers can play for as short or as long as they like.

“Previous fund-raisers have been good fun for both performers and audience alike. Acts already on board include Mnemosyne, Stealth, Threshing Ground and Freaky Trigger.”
