FROM singing to dancing to beatboxing – pupils from Malvern’s Dyson Perrins CE Academy have shown they’ve got talent.
Dozens of youngsters took part in Dyson’s Got Talent, a Britain’s Got Talent-style contest organised mainly by sixth form music and performing arts students.
About 300 people packed into the school to watch the final, which saw 14 hopefuls pitted against each other in a bid to wow the judges.
The finalists were selected from 40 auditions by judges made up of sixth formers.
Steph Vipond, the school’s head of drama, said: “It was a great event. It’s been running for three years. The judges were very glamorous and sat on a raised table to give the acts feedback.”
A tribute band called the Sunshine Happy Band performed a medley of Busted songs before year 11 pupil Krai Pearson won the £50 prize for his beatboxing.
Mrs Vipond said: “It was really great and the sixth form students were brilliant.
“They did all the sound management and the lighting and acted as back stage crew.
They were a real credit to the school.”
