"A MILD consternation was caused on Sunday at St Matthias' Church, Malvern Link, when at the morning and evening services all the adult membeers of the choir exepct one, failed to take their accustomed places in the stalls, although several of them were present in the congregation, reported the Gazette 100 years ago.
"Enquiries elicited the fact that about a fortnight ago, a dispute arose between the organist and the adult members of the choir, as the result of which the bulk of them sent in their resignations.
"It is not within our province to publish the details of the disagreement, which is a purely internal question concerning the organist and the aggrieved choirmen, but we understand that there is at present, at any rate, no likelihood of the men reconsidering their decision, and in all probability, a fresh choir will have to be got together, It is extremely awkward, to say the least."
