THE search is on for Malvern and Ledbury people to take part in an epic relay race as part of this year’s Sport Relief campaign.

Sport Relief and the BBC’s The One Show this week called for members of the public aged 16 or over to run a mile each in the event, which covers 1,000 miles from the Isle of Mull to the Mall in London.

The One Show 1000 comes to this area on Friday, March 23, when participants will be covering a route from Birmingham to South Wales.

The route takes in Malvern and Ledbury, before heading off towards Ross on the way to Cardiff. The One Show presenter Matt Baker said: “Viewers have shown themselves to be incredibly generous donors to Sport Relief in the past.

“This epic relay gives them the chance to be the heroes of their own challenge.

“I know from experience how uplifting it feels to take on something like this and raise money for such a great cause, and I urge all our viewers to give it a go and apply for their place right now.
