THE Playhouse Nursery in Malvern will be throwing its doors open to the public tomorrow (Saturday) to mark its 25th birthday.

When Larraine Walker opened its doors in 1986, Playhouse was the only day nursery in Malvern.

A quarter of a century later the Abbey Road-based nursery has become one of the town’s success stories, having cared for about 1,000 children.

At the open day, from 10am-noon, parents will be able to see the facilities that all those children have enjoyed, including a sensory room and two gardens.

“We have been here for 25 years, but the commitment to the children has never changed,” said Larraine. “We still think of all our children as just that: children.

“Having been established for more than a generation makes it especially wonderful when former children bring their children to the nursery.”

Parent Angela Street said: “We have two children at Playhouse and they come home at the end of the day exhausted, happy and full of stories from their day. Our oldest is always making cards to take into nursery because she loves the staff so much.

The nursery and staff are fantastic, you only have to look round to understand the commitment the management have put into the nursery and its quality.

Here’s to another 25 years.”
