FURTHER consultation will take place on future car parking fees and permits in Great Malvern.
Last month traders won a lastminute reprieve after councillors decided not to increase the cost of the town’s short-stay car parks.
This week, Malvern Hills District Council’s overview and scrutiny committee agreed to form a task and finish group to consult with traders and other interested parties to find more appropriate levels of charges.
They will then aim to bring a report to the council by May with any recommendations.
At the meeting of full council last month Councillor Tom Wells proposed an amendment that no changes to charges would be made until the council implements civil parking enforcement and it was also agreed police would be asked to help enforce parking restrictions.
The council’s executive committee had agreed a series of increases which would have raised an extra £50,000.
