THE Christmas Fair at St James’ School raised an amazing total of £1,055! They are delighted with this record amount which included £120.45 for the Majani Mapana Charity, £73 for Leap Frogs and £16.95 for decorations. A wonderful time was had by all and thanks go to all who helped make it such a successful event.

There was a full house in the Armpit at the Brewers Arms for the WI Christmas celebration. Following carols from the Chase High School Band, over 40 women managed to squeeze into the Armpit and enjoy a festive meal. They also showed-off their hand-made Christmas decorations, for which, I understand, prizes were awarded.

Another event that went incredibly well was this month’s community market at St James’s School. There were 17 stalls, in contrast to only seven the previous month, which had a great mix of produce, ranging from locally grown apples and holly, to home-made cakes and local honey. Then there were also handmade gifts galore - the talent of local people was really on show with original artwork, home-made cards, jewellery, coat hooks and even cake stands! Children from the school also had a stall; selling items they had made to raise money for the Tanzanian Charity.

The finale of pre-Christmas village events is at the Brewers Arms on Friday, December 23 when the West Malvern Voices will be singing Carols from 8.30pm onwards.

There will be a midnight service in the Church at 11.30pm on Christmas Eve and a family service on Christmas Day at 10.30am.
