SOME of the biggest names in the music business have thrown their support behind Malvern’s singing sensation Cher Lloyd as she bids to win this year’s X Factor.

Stars such as Boy George, Chipmunk and US rapper Soulja Boy - whose song ‘Turn My Swag On’ was Cher’s choice of audition track - have voiced their support on social networking site Twitter.

And even last year’s winner Joe McElderry added his support, ‘tweeting’: “I loved Cher from XF.”

Closer to home Cher’s bid for stardom has received the backing of her former school Dyson Perrins.

Headteacher David Griffin said: “She’s a very talented young lady. She contributed to many of our art showcases, performing herself and encouraging and motivating the younger students.

“We’re delighted by her success. It’s well-deserved and we wish her every success in the X Factor.”
