MEMBERS were pleased to welcome Elaine Cox to the July meeting who spoke on the History and work of the Acorns Children's Hospice.

It began in Birmingham in Oak Tree Lane, hence the name Acorns. Later land was donated in Bath Road, Worcester and the local hospice was built and opened in 2004 to provide care and respite for sick children and their families.

After coffee members were reminded about the mini market to be held on October 30.

There is no meeting in August but a visit has been arranged to Reg Moule's garden centre at Droitwich.

The next meeting will be on September 7 at 10.30am at the United Reformed Church Hall when the talk will be on The Wye Valley.
