Some news about Just Clobber at St.James Church. They will be opening on a special Saturday this summer, Saturday, August 14 10am-1pm.

Sunday, July 18 sees the return of the Welland Country Market from 10am-1pm in the Village Hall. Products include local fruit, vegetables, eggs, preserves, cheese, bread, confectionary, honey, savouries, meat, plants, cards, jewellery and Aloe Vera products. Saturday, July 17 and Sunday, July 18 sees the Summer Arts and Craft Festival ( in commemoration of St James' Day) and barbecue at St James Church, Welland. The Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Saturday, November 20 and Sunday, November 21. Tables for both these events are booked up early so if you want to book a table for either event, please ring Mary Purser on 01684 310289 as soon as possible!

I am not sure whether you realise but there is a Whist Drive which takes place every second Tuesday at Welland Village Hall at 8pm (the next one will be July 20). Admission costs £1.50 and includes tea/coffee and biscuits. There is a raffle and all are welcome. The members are very friendly and supportive for all levels of play.

The Annual Welland Steam and Country Rally will be held on its showground in Welland during the weekend of July 23-25. The show for all the family with the old time fairground, tractor-pulling, models and crafts, early motor vehicles, arena events, tractors and stationary engines and various trade stands to complete a fun weekend. Adults £10 per day; children and OAP's £5 and children under school age free with free car parking. Gates open each day 9.30am until 7pm. Any enquiries please phone either 01531: 890417/890762.

Saturday, September 11 - Joint Benefice Social in Welland On September 18 the Tredegar Orpheus Male Voice Choir will make a return visit to Welland for a concert in the church. Following the concert in the church, the choir will retire to the Pheasant Inn for a meal and, no doubt, continue to give an impromptu performance!! Further details will be published later.
