Yes, I completed the run.
It was very cold at the start then hot in the middle then the best part was coming over the last hill and seeing the sea and getting an icy blast from the wind overall it was a brilliant experience and I’ll do it again.
I finished 27,951th LOL....I didn’t win.....
My time was 2:28:07, a personal best time ...so far.
I had a great time even if I nearly died at the 9-10 mile mark (very hot conditions) but what really helped me through was the ordinary people urging me on and some even came out of their homes to give us sliced oranges, melon and biscuits to keep us going.
One chap had brought his hosepipe out to the road and had set it to fine spray and just stood there spraying runners who wanted it. I thought that was great.
I have no ill effects afterwards, just a bit tired...next time I’ll go better prepared and will run it much faster.
Cheers Bob.
