An artist is returning with a new monochrome exhibition.
Sam Weeks, an abstract painter from Birmingham, is bringing her solo show, A Sense of Order, to Malvern Library for the month of August.

Ms Weeks said: "I’m fascinated by the human search for understanding – our attempts to make sense of the world around us and our place within it. I think I’ve always wondered why we do it."
Her previous exhibition at the same venue featured colourful works that received an "enthusiastic response from visitors."
This year’s show offers a different approach, focusing entirely on black, white, and grey. The two series on display were created three years apart.
Hermetic Principles, painted in 2022–23, was inspired by the ancient philosophy of Hermeticism. Her newer Dualities series began in 2026 and looks at the relationship between pairs of entities.
Ms Weeks said: "Although these paintings were made three years apart, I realised they are connected by the same underlying enquiry. The title A Sense of Order comes from that very human compulsion to find, or perhaps create, some kind of order in the world around us."
A Sense of Order will be on display throughout August in the Book & Cup Café at Malvern Library. Entry is free, and the building is fully accessible, with disabled parking on site and roadside parking nearby.
Ms Weeks will host a Meet the Artist event on August 15, from 1pm to 4pm.
Visitors will have the opportunity to view the paintings and discuss the ideas behind the work directly with her. The exhibition runs until August 29.
