An event in Malvern featured a talk from the woman who led the discovery of King Richard III's remains.

The Midsummer Malvern opening event on Monday evening welcomed Philippa Langley, known for her role in uncovering the king's remains in a Leicester car park in 2012.

Ms Langley, whose story became globally recognised and was the subject of feature film The Lost King, starring Steve Coogan, shared insights into her current project about the fate of the 'Two Princes'.

The Princes in the Tower were the deposed King Edward V and his younger brother Prince Richard, Duke of York, who were heirs to Edward IV.  Shortly before Edward V's coronation both boys were declared illegitimate and Gloucester came to the throne as Richard III.

It is assumed they were murdered but  it is now thought Edward V, may have lived out his life in Devon.

The event was organised by Malvern Community Partnership to support Ukraine Freedom Company, an organisation delivering aid directly to Ukraine's front line.

Will Jackson, from Hereford Elgar Rotary, described how he and colleagues would soon head to the front line in an ambulance accompanied by two articulated lorries full of vital medical equipment and supplies, baby products, basic food items, and comfort boxes for front line troops.

The audience contributed generously, and the proceeds will benefit both Ukraine Freedom Company and Great Malvern Priory.

Local artist Margret Hallmark has produced a triptych of paintings illustrating the pain and suffering by Ukrainian families deeply affected by the war.
