A SEVEN-MONTH long road closure is just about to get underway on the A449 between Malvern and Ledbury.
With the closure expected to cause significant disruption around the Malvern Hills, we have compiled everything you need to know, including the location of the closure, the diversion route and when it comes into force.
A number of businesses on or near the A449, including a pub, café, hotel and petrol station, have already raised concerns about the length of the closure and how it could impact businesses.

That includes the Malvern Hills Hotel, where owner Matthew Cooke said it may lead to job losses and Andrew Collier, who runs Daniels Petroleum and fears the petrol station will see a drop in trade.
Worcestershire County Council has said that, due to the scale of the works, a full closure is necessary.
Where will the closure be?
The A449 will be closed from the A4104 turn-off to the entrance to British Camp Car Park.
When does it close?
The road closure will come into force on Monday, September 8. It is scheduled to remain closed until April 24, 2026, according to Worcestershire County Council's roadworks map.
Is there a diversion route?
Motorists will be diverted via Welland, Hollybush and Eastnor.
The diversion route, which takes approximately 20 minutes, takes motorists along the A449, A438, B4208 and A4104 Marlbank Road.
Can businesses get compensation?
In a recent statement, Worcestershire County Council said it was unable to provide compensation to businesses affected by the closure.
"Worcestershire County Council is not able to provide compensation for such works," a spokesperson said.
Why are the works taking place?
The works on the A449 are to repair a collapsed retaining wall. Works will include demolition of the wall, excavation and construction.
The road will then be resurfaced.
