A QUILTING group has created an eco-friendly quilt using recycled materials.
Malvern Quilters crafted the traditional 'crazy quilt' using discarded silk and velvet scraps, a second-hand wool blanket bought for £5, and a cotton sheet dyed with unused dye from a member's cupboard.
The quilt was embroidered with purchased thread, and the sashing was made from leftover needlecord offcuts.
The group pieced and embroidered blocks before assembling and tying the quilt together.
The quilt is set to be displayed at Quilts UK Malvern at the Three Counties Showground from Thursday (15) to Sunday, May 18.
Malvern Quilters, established in 1979, is considered one of the UK's oldest patchwork and quilting groups.
They meet at Malvern Vale Community Centre.
A spokesperson said: "Members pieced a block and embroidered it with traditional stitching, and the quilt was then assembled and tied by the group."
The group welcomes new members of all abilities.
